O'Bannon TAFC next year

    Just got off the phone with Sean O'Bannon and the word on the street is true, O'Bannon Racing will debut a Top Alcohol Funny Car driven by current SG/SC racer Alexis De Joria and tuned by full-time tuner Randy Anderson.

    Sponsors will be Paul Mitchell Products (founded by De Joria's father), Tequila Petron and Torco Race Fuels.

    Sean will continue to compete in the family dragster with Norm Grimes returning as tuner/crew chief.

    Look for an official release in the coming days...

    Does that meen Randy won't be helping other TA/FC teams, Like Tasca, et al?

    i just got the pr that grimes is going to whitely's ynot team. is anderson going to tune both now?

    as far as anderson's involvement with other teams, he has to speak for himself, but from what i gather, his deal with obannon will be inclusive. i was told he will no longer be tuning tasca's car.

    Word travels fast through the racing world! It is true Grimes has moved on to do other things. There are no hard feelings between the two sides so lets no let any rumors get started. Everyone at O'Bannon racing wishes Norm all the luck in the world he is one of the best any one could ever have. Randy Anderson will take the helm of the new funny car program and all of us are very excited about that. As far as the dragster goes we will be making an anoucement very soon on who will be taking over for Norm. I can only say that it will be another big name crew chief!!!!!

    Let's see......Jay Payne, Mick Snider, and now Sean O'Bannon. The Alky FC guys should give a Huge Praise to the A-fuel guys. They're Car counts are the Highest they've been in over 10 years!

    I heard from her crew guy that she still needs more races in S/C since she's only got 5 under her belt and they want at least 1 full season racing. She's pretty new to the racing scene so best of luck to her, hopefully she'll get out there and get her hands dirty and learn what makes these cars work in addition to learning how to drive them.

    We all wish them the best and hopefully at the next race we can meet.

    Alexis will make a great Funny Car driver. She's only 2 laps away from completing her lic. She has run quite a few races this year including 1 National win and a Div. runner up. with a little seat time she will be a contender in TAF/C.

    will randy still be able to tune over the phone to other teams and do fuel systems, of is this a complete exclusive ti the new team.
