Now for the real question

Now that i know i have useable nitro what can i expect by adding 20% to a 540 bae hemi pro mod? I runs 4.20 now and i need to squeeze a half a tenth or so out of it. If this is the ticket how will i set this up ? I have been told richen it 20% and bump timing 2 degrees ? Is this even close i sure dont want to damage this thing

 

A friend of mine used to add some model airplane nitro to his alcohol ..... no tester ...... worked well untill he put too much in ..... boom..... make sure you mix that nitro in a container and check the percentage with the proper hydrometer ... This is a loaded question per say. It really depends on the specifics of your engine and more importantly your fuel system. I can tell you what worked for me, but my altered is totally different than your car most likely. I actually richen my fuel system 1 gallon for 20% and added 8 degrees of timing. I also dropped my compression from 12:1 down to around 9.2:1. Like I said this works for me, while others that i race with do things very different from me to get similar results. I picked up a little over a tenth and 4-5 mph in the eigth with 20% in the tank.
