    odouls

    another o'douls race....non alcoholic type...

about as good. instead of a "near beer" call it a "near race"

i know it sucks to lose a close race. i would be on the tire if we lost the houston race.

never ran ihra, but it sounds like the baders put on one hell of a show...so at least it's not all bad...

they could have moved it to like columbus....

    Thank Forrest Lucas

This should supprise no one. If it wasn't for the best friend the class ever had,Forrest Lucas no telling how many races we would be able to compete at. It how big of a board do we have to get hit with to realize that we're the step child with one foot out the door already. We are not sportsman and we are not Pro's accdording to NHRA so we must be just hangers on that they allow to race because someone else is paying the purse. I'm not upset because I have known this for some time. The class situation is tenuous at best.
Wonder what would happen if Forrest took his money for this class over to the other guys and used the current IHRA rules. Interesting thought. Of course there would have to be an exodus of NHRA tracks that also crosssed over. Maybe we are not really wanted there either, what do I know. I am slowly coming to the conclusion that there needs to be a split in the TAD class. One for blown and one for injected fuel. One of the things I believe NHRA is frusterated with is the oildown situation. This is a non issue with the fuel cars. It would also NHRA to change the rules for the blown cars like backing the blowers up, etc. until the oildown problem was acceptable.

which really sucks. norwalk is back to back with e-town. most of the teams i talked to this weekend said they don't intend to do the 2 races in a row. what will probably happen is low car counts at both of those races ,which will make the class look bad. it is too hard and cost too much money to go that far away for 2 national events and when most of the teams and crewmembers have full time jobs it's just not possible.

I quit going to any race that doesn't include the Alky classes! $50-60 just to see Fuel cars isn't worth it in my book!

    no alky's

It has been stated SEVERAL times by some of the big wigs at NHRA, aka"No Hot Rods Allowed", that if they could run a race without the sportsman cars they would. I'm sure that goes for the alky cars too. As a crewmember and driver, this sucks. My dad ran alky f/c's back in the 70's and 80's, and saw it was time to get out. I run for the stands to see the alky cars, but NHRA and some of the people shut off the big screen and go on coffee break. WAKE UP before you lose the most competetive class in the pits!!!

Lee I was not singeling anyone out. I think it is common knowlege however that the blown cars have many more oildowns than injected fuel cars. I have had several rods hanging out of the pan before the tubs were required with no oil on the tracks. I think it is because of the difference in the engine rpm. In the last five years I have not personaly seen and a-fuel car oil the track down from an engine failure Good luck in Noble. We are going to stay home and test some new parts.
