With all the new cars on the road using nitrogen in there tires has anyone used it in there race car tires if so did you notice air pressure still going up and down with temp changes?? Thought about trying it..

How much lighter would a car be if you used helium? :D

We ran nitrogen in our circle track car years ago (mid 90's) and it mellowed out pressure changes. We'd usually see 8-9# swing, with nitrogen it was 2-3#s

Interested to see how much it changes in a high volume slick.

Helium that would be a good one with that big of a tire I think you should try it and get back to us on that!!Lol but curious to know if you would benefit from using nitrogen or is it just a waste of time??

I guess if you could get regular air as dry as the nitrogen is, it would prolly do the same.

I think it the moisture content that drive the pressure up with the temp.

Not sure if an urban legend or not, but years back, supposedly Beadle's WoO sprint car tried the helium-in-the-wing deal . . . .

    Never heard the results.

Helium is a very small molecule. If a tire or rim had any leak at all it no matter how small it would like leak like crazy.
