NHRA TAD & TAFC Power Rankings
    9/20/05

    TAD
    (Last week's rankings in parenthesis)

    1. Steve Torrence (1) - The nightmare continues...doesn't look like this team can be stopped.

    2. Aaron Olivarez (2) - Ran respectable numbers all weekend in Noble, just came up short against Torrence.

    3. Bill Reichert (5) - We knew it was going to happen, as the mercury goes lower in the thermometer, Reichert just gets hotter.

    4. Hillary Will (3) - Hasn't been in action since Indy. Will be interesting to see this team in the cool air of fall.

    5. Art Gallant (6) - Always a threat to make the late rounds when he shows up.

    6. Steve Federlin (4) - Scored a semifinal finish after sneaking out to Reading. Will be interesting to see if he heads south to Dallas with heat forecasted for this weekend.

    5. Bill Reichert (6) - Seems to have found some of their mojo back, running consistent 5.30's in eliminations in Indy.

    6. Art Gallant (3) - Had the dubious honor of running the Torrence/Conway juggernaut in round one. Look for a rebound this weekend in E-Town.

    7. Randy Meyer (7) - Been in a slump of late, but still has a legit shot at the title if he can win out the year.

    8. Marty Thacker (8) - Had a strong car in Reading, just came up on the wrong side of Federlin in round two.

    9. Guy Kelly (9) - Will we see Kelly in Dallas this weekend? Would love to see this team squaring off on the national level.

    10. Gene Snow (NR) - Strong showings in Indy and Noble have this team back in the top ten, and could rise again after Dallas this weekend.

Just on the outside: David Wells, Jeff Bohr, Duane Shields, Brandon Johnson, Richard Putz

    TAFC

    1. Frank Manzo (1) - It looks like it's going to be a battle to the finish between Manzo and Newb. Manzo has some ground to make up, but don't put it past the 'Ace.'

    2. Bob Newberry (2) - Scored a big win on the divisional level a couple of weeks ago, and his final round appearance in Reading solidified his points lead. Has the upper hand going into the stretch.

    3. Jay Payne (3) - Out of the championship hunt, one would think the team may be in 'test mode' for the remainder of the year. Still a threat anywhere they show up.

    4. Mick Snyder (4) - Continues to impress, running strong on both the divisional and national level.

    5. John Weaver (5) - Will be interesting to see this team slug it out in Chicago in a few weeks.

    6. Dennis Taylor (6) - Sat out Fallon, Nev., and Fontana, Calif., Div. 7 races. Will hit the trail again this weekend in Dallas.

    7. Bucky Austin (8) - Made the finals on a very, very tricky track in Fallon, should make an impact as the year winds to a close.

    8. Steve Gasparrelli (7) - Has stumbled on the divisional level, look for this team to bounce back on the national level.

    9. Doug Gordon (NR) - This team has really stepped up their game of late, will be interesting to see this team back out on the national level.

    10. Dave Ray (NR) - This team mixes it up with the title contenders week in and week out. Performance over the past two weeks puts them in the top ten.

Just on the outside: Tate Branch, Clint Thompson, Brian Hough, Mark Woznichak, Jimmy Jones, Bernie Harrington
