NHRA TAD & TAFC Power Rankings
    8/31/05

    TAD
    (Last week's rankings in parenthesis)

    1. Steve Torrence (1) - Ran the table again last weekend in Topeka, can they be stopped?

    2. Steve Federlin (2) - Needs to stop Torrence in Indy. Will be tough, but not totally out of the question for these guys.

    3. Art Gallant (5) - Seems to be back to his winning ways. Definitely heating up down the stretch with another win in Div. 1 last weekend.

    4. Hillary Will (4) - When this team is on, they're the baddest blown car on the planet. If they were on more often, they might make the championship chase interesting.

    5. Randy Meyer (3) - Topeka DNQ really hurt his title hopes. Needs to rebound with a win in Indy.

    6. Bill Reichert (6) - Like Meyer, needs to win-out the rest of the year to keep his hat in the Championship ring. With cooler air on the way, may not be out of question.

    7. Aaron Olivarez (7) - Has a chance to be the spoiler in Indy.

    8. Guy Kelly (8) - Has an opportunity to show he can run with the big dawgs this weekend. A strong showing will rise their stock. Has an outside shot at the title if they travel (and win).

    9. Marty Thacker (9) - Will the old Marty resurface at Indy? Still fighting consistency woes.

    10. David Wells (NR) - Knows how to get it done. No stranger to the late rounds.

Just on the outside: Ken Perry, Duane Shields, Brandon Johnson, Ashley Force, Lee Callaway

    TAFC

    1. Bob Newberry (1) - Looks like the battle in the Northeast may go back and forth all year.

    2. Frank Manzo (2) - Manzo strikes back in Cecil County. Takes another step towards the top spot and the Championship.

    3. Jay Payne (3) - Playing the role of blocker this weekend as he's out of nationals. Needs a strong showing to hang on to the 3 spot.

    4. Mick Snyder (4) - Another strong showing last weekend in Bowling Green. Hottest team on the charts.

    5. Dennis Taylor (7) - Picked the pace back up with a win in Topeka last weekend. One of the most consistent cars out there.

    6. Paul Gill (5) - Too bad this team can't race more often. Some teams should be glad they don't.

    7. Steve Gasparrelli (6) - A strong Indy showing will increase their stock.

    8. John Weaver (8) - Another team that could move up the charts with a strong Indy showing.

    9. Bucky Austin (9) - Not playing in Indy this year, still plenty tough.

    10. Jackie Stidham (NR) - Would love to see this team in Indy.

Just on the outside: Tate Branch, Clint Thompson, Brian Hough, Doug Gordon, Mark Woznichak
