NHRA TAD & TAFC Power Rankings
    8/3/05

    TAD
    (Last week's rankings in parenthesis)

    1. Steve Torrence (1) - Still the hottest in the class, but is definitely starting to feel the heat from Steve Federlin.

    2. Steve Federlin (3) - Hottest guy on the charts. Make that four wins in a row now. Could make it five in a row this weekend in Mission.

    3. Randy Meyer (2) - This team should have hit the Western Swing. The next few weeks are critical to Meyer to stay in the hunt.

    4. Ken Perry (4) - Will have a very marginal track to deal with at Edgewater. Still should make the money round, if not win.

    5. Bill Reichert (5) - One has to wonder if they will even make the trip to Edgewater this weekend. He doesn't have many races left not to win if he wants to make a title run this year.

    6. Hillary Will (6) - She's like a power hitter. She can knock them out of the park, but she's been striking out a lot lately. Needs more consistency.

    7. Guy Kelly (7) - Could come out of this weekend with two more wins with a double header in Valdosta. If he does, his stock for a title run could rise.

    8. Duane Shields (NR) - Has made an impressive showing with new Hadman peice on the western swing with two runner ups. Will be interesting to see if he makes the trip to Mission.

    9. David Wells (10) - Still has an outside chance to make a title run. Could take a step that direction this weekend in Scribner.

    10. Marty Thacker (NR) - Should do well in Edgewater given his experience racing these kinds of tracks back in his UDRA days.

Just on the outside: Aaron Olivarez, Brandon Johnson, Ashley Force, Gene Snow, Art Gallant, Joe Windham

    TAFC

    1. Frank Manzo (1) - This weekend is the showdown in the 'Grove' in Reading. Look for one hell of a slug-fest between him and 'Newb'

    2. Bob Newberry (2) - Can take over the top spot on our list and take a step towards the World Championship if he outdoes Manzo this weekend.

    3. Jay Payne (3) - Could pick up two wins this weekend in Valdosta. Needs to to stay up in points.

    4. Paul Gill (4) - If he outdoes Manzo or Newb, may move up a spot on our list.

    5. Dennis Taylor (5) - Made another strong showing in Sonoma, came up short against a resurgent Doug Gordon.

    6. Steve Gasparrelli (7) - Had the breaks and ran good when he needed to to grab the win in Sonoma.

    7. John Weaver (NR) - Qualifying No. 1 at a tough Sonoma field is really something. Team is a national event win waiting to happen.

    8. Brian Hough (6) - Can run strong on the national and divisional level. That's why he's in our top ten.

    9. Jackie Stidham (8) - Doesn't travel much, but you know when he's at the track usually because he's still around in the late rounds.

    10. Mick Snyder (9) - This team just gets stronger and stronger every race. Could surprise a few on the national level later this year.

Just on the outside: Clint Thompson, Cy Chesterman, Doug Gordon, Mark Woznichak, Clint Thompson, Doug Gordon
