NHRA TAD & TAFC Power Rankings
    8/20/05

    TAD
    (Last week's rankings in parenthesis)

    1. Steve Torrence (1) - Dominating performance in Brainerd solidified his standing in the top spot of the class.

    2. Steve Federlin (2) - Played a smart hand not showing up in the cool air of Brainerd last weekend. Good move to keep his title hopes alive.

    3. Randy Meyer (3) - Missed a golden opportunity to pick up more valuable Lucas Oil points with a second round redlight in Brainerd.

    4. Hillary Will (6) - Moves back up the charts after Perry and Reichert slide down the charts.

    5. Art Gallant (10) - Another racer getting hot. Coming off a win on the divisional level and runner-up in Brainerd.

    6. Bill Reichert (5) - Ran strong in Brainerd, but lost on a holeshot in round one. Should get stronger as air gets better.

    7. Aaron Olivarez (NR) - Ran very strong once again in Brainerd. Team looks to be getting the consistency.

    8. Guy Kelly (7) - Still very strong on the divisional level, will be interesting to see how they do the rest of the year.

    9. Marty Thacker (8) - Still runs very good. Still seems to lack in the consistency department.

    10. Ken Perry (4) - Didn't really run at the level he did earlier in the year in Brainerd.

Just on the outside: David Wells, Duane Shields, Brandon Johnson, Ashley Force, Lee Callaway

    TAFC

    1. Bob Newberry (1) - Another win in Brainerd solidifies his standing in the No. 1 spot and his chances for the World Championship.

    2. Frank Manzo (2) - Ran strong in Brainerd, just not as strong as Newb.

    3. Jay Payne (3) - Ran good numbers, didn't go the rounds. Needs to make some rounds to stay in No. 3 spot.

    4. Mick Snyder (8) - Ran very strong and deadly consistent. This team is on fire. They're making more believers than a summertime revival.

    5. Paul Gill (5) - Hangs on to his spot after an off week.

    6. Steve Gasparrelli (6) - Will be interesting to see how this team does in Indy.

    7. Dennis Taylor (4) - Got hot on the Western Swing, fell off the last few races.

    8. John Weaver (7) - Still think this team could be the spoiler in Indy.

    9. Bucky Austin (9) - Starting to get back to his old form. Could spell trouble for the field.

    10. Tate Branch (NR) - Back from the 'dead' so to speak. Looked very strong in their return at Brainerd.

Just on the outside: Jackie Stidham, Clint Thompson, Brian Hough, Doug Gordon, Mark Woznichak
