NHRA TAD & TAFC Power Rankings

    TAD
    (Last week's rankings in parenthesis)

    1. Steve Torrence (1) - Stumbled with first round loss in Joliet, but 5.39 was awful stout. Still has the car to beat in the class.

    2. Randy Meyer (2) - Would have been interesting to see how this team would have fared in Seattle.

    3. Steve Federlin (5) - Hottest guy on the charts. Three wins in a row, this team is on fire. This team could make a title run yet.

    4. Ken Perry (4) - Has shown the ability to run strong just about anywhere he goes this year, very tough contender.

    5. Bill Reichert (3) - Still hit and miss in hot weather. Will be a terror when the weather cools off, however.

    6. Hillary Will (8) - Ran an absolutely awesome 5.30/270 in round one in Seattle. If this team finds some consistency, they could be moving back up the charts.

    7. Guy Kelly (7) - Two wins in a row on the Division 2 level, look for more to come.

    8. Ashley Force (6) - Got sucker punched by No. 1 alternate Aaron Olivarez in round one in Seattle. Should do well in low altitude of Sonoma.

    9. Brandon Johnson (9) - Expected to see more out of this team. Ran strong, but still didn't make the late rounds.

    10. David Wells (NR) - Took the win against a tough field in Joliet. Could be returning back to form.

Just on the outside: Marty Thacker, Duane Shields, Gene Snow, Art Gallant, Chris Demke

    TAFC

    1. Frank Manzo (1) - Coming off an out of division win in Joliet. Two weeks until the big title bout in Div. 1 between him and Newberry. Not only will the winner get this site's No. 1 ranking, but will have a leg up in the title hunt.

    2. Bob Newberry (2) - The odds are dead even on these two going into the upcoming Maple Grove divisional. Race has huge title implications.

    3. Jay Payne (3) - Stumbled a bit this past weekend in Bristol, but look for the team to come back strong in a few weeks in Valdosta.

    4. Paul Gill (4) - One of two cars in Div. 1 that could throw a monkey wrench in the title fight between Manzo and Newb. Has a very tough car.

    5. Dennis Taylor (NR) - Makes the biggest move on the charts after very impressive runner-up in Seattle and win in Woodburn. Tuner Ora Vasquez is definitely on to something, and that's trouble for the rest of the field with their consistency.

    6. Brian Hough (8) - Looked very strong again in Seattle. This is definitely a team to watch.

    7. Steve Gasparrelli (5) - Ran strong, but went out in round two of a tough field in Seattle.

    8. Jackie Stidham (7) - Probably won't see this team until September, but will still be tough when they do come out.

    9. Mick Snyder (NR) - Always in the thick of things, and is coming off a win and r/u. This team is a hot ticket on the charts.

    10. Cy Chesterman (9) - Patiently waiting for their turn to shine when Div. 5 heats back up soon.

Just on the outside: John Weaver, Mark Woznichak, Clint Thompson, Dave Ray, Doug Gordon
