    - Brent Henry out, Brandon Pierce back in. Henry was slated to drive the Tom Conway tuned Sooner One A/FD this year. Apparently the deal fell apart after their first test outing. The team intends to compete this year with Brandon back behind the wheel.

    - Conway keeps license current. Former 2x World Champ Tom Conway renewed his license with a career-best 5.43 pass behind the wheel of the Sooner One A/FD. The pass was his first in over 11 years. Not showing any signs of rust, Conway posted a .041 RT. Reportedly, Conway opted to make the pass in the Sooner One car due to the pedals matching him better than his car set up for the shorter Steve Torrence.

    - Massey earns license, reaches final at first event. Gene Snow's new driver Spencer Massey earned his license and made his first final round all at his first event. Unfortunately, Massey kicked the rods in his semifinal win over Carl Magee, and was unable to return for the final. Massey also ripped the tree down all weekend, with a .016 best in elims and a .005 in qualifying.

    - Johnson reaches final in debut with Etterman Racing. New Etterman Racing shoe Jonathan Johnson made the final round in his first event with the team. A broken reverser kept Johnson from getting back to the line in the final against Stidham.

    - Back to the Future. The Stidham & Wilson team once again flew the "Time Machine" name on the side of the car commemorating it's 25 year anniversary. This season has been dubbed "The Last Time Around." Someone make some shirts quick!! Way Cool as DT would say.

    - Near capacity crowd. The stands were packed and the fence was solid all the way down both sides. Who says alcohol cars don't bring a crowd?

    - Callaway misses opener. Former Div. 4 Champ and last year's No. 2 finisher Lee Callaway was forced to miss the Div. 4 opener after failing to get a critical 'part' for his combination. Callaway hopes to make the second event in Memphis in three weeks.

    - Death in Jones' family. Defending Div. 4 TAFC Champ Jimmy Jones was forced to turn back around after learning of the death of his Mother-in-law.

    - Chamber of Commerce conditions - Clear skys, low altimeters and mild conditions greeted racers at No Problem Raceway in Belle Rose, La. A high pressure system kept the humidity down, along with the altimeters. The worst conditions the alcohol cars seen all weekend was around the 1200 ft mark.
