Did anyone notice Eric Medlen's new two hole injector hat this last weekend at NHRA Seattle. It has two 6" Diameter holes. It gives them more boost at high speed so the supercharger doesn't have to be turned so fast so less horsepower used to turn the blower.

Mike; I did, so I squinted really hard and watched for other views. I believe I saw what appeared to be the back of a Knut unit with a new front grafted on to it. I'm sure he was trying to turn the air faster (sooner) to the front of the rotors.
We all know that the more plates and smaller holes make for some terrific throttle response from idle (remember the Crower 10 port ?, hearing one of those in the pits, made you sure that car would run in the three second zone!)
Unfortunately they never made instant boost at the startline.

From what I understand. John Medlin is working with Randy Anderson on some special projects.

That two hole hat has nothing to do with Randy Anderson. It was designed by Johnny Stamper.

Big and round. Probably 6.5" diameter. Bigger than I first thought.

    Blower Hat

I do carbon fiber work and have had several in my shop lately. I also run a car on the Bonneville Salt Flats, so aerodynamics are always on my mind. I've got several more efficient ideas for hats. We've run the numbers and I believe there are better designs for this purpose. Very ineresting that you pointed this out on Medlins car. Thanks!

I'm wondering how they were able to put this on the car. I believe there is a morotorium on new parts in TF, FC. I know a guy who makes a hat that has butterflies standing vertically, and one of the TF teams has been trying to get NHRA to let them run it, but they won't. They say it's about not wanting the TF cars to get any faster. Maybe they aren't as worried about FC.

Supposedly Force's bunch saw something new on Shoe's dragster and cried foul. Alley told them to go ahead and build their hat and _HRA would just screw'em with the rev limiter. It's been on the car on Monday test sessions for a while. The neat stuff is inside.
Third hand info, I don't know anyone at JFR.
