Tech issues warning for passing scales or fuel

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    09/21/2005

Under no circumstances may a competitor reject scaling his or her vehicle or bypass fuel check to deliberately disallow a run. Any competitor who runs quicker than any of his or her previous runs during an event in Top Alcohol Dragster, Top Alcohol Funny Car, Comp, Super Stock, or Stock and fails to report to post-run inspection (scales or fuel check) will be disqualified from the event and charged with a zero (0) points count toward the driver's claimed races. This policy is effective immediately.

Div race last weekend this happened and I would think it could happened in any class but this deal was a comp class:

An interesting turn of events last night, Stephenson's last run, his quickest, was disqualified when he bypassed the scales. He is the current points leader, but has no more races to claim. He is trying to hold off Roger Brogdon for the championship. After much discussion, it was determined by NHRA that he was trying to manipulate the ladder by driving by the scales and his run was re-instated, moving him up on the ladder, and putting him on the opposite side Brogdon is on. We'll have to see how this plays out.
