Additional roll cage padding will be mandatory for the 2008 season. Any one have an idea about were it goes and who sells the proper padding.

I put the Butler pads in my car last year (saw it coming) and I believe in safety! Really like them and they pay contingency!

The Butler pads that Garvin sells are the best. They are top of the line hand made, just what I would look for in a piece of safety equipment.

Other than the Butler stuff, would the ISP lateral supports be one of the options they're looking for?

Also noticed this at the bottom:

"All classes that require gloves and boots:
If the class mandates a -15 suit then -15 gloves must be worn. If the class mandates a-20 suit then -20 gloves and boots must be worn."

Not to complain about safety, but I guess I'll put the new gloves I bought and used once aside and buy new ones...again.

    http://www.ihra.com/competition/index.php
Attention Top Fuel and Nitro Funny Car Competitors:
Effective 8-15-07 All competitors must incorporate additional roll cage padding, helmet shroud, and a SFI 16.1, 3 inch, seven point restraint system installed as per manufacturers specifications. The restraint system may be wrapped around the frame for the 2007 season, provided proper alignment is maintained in the direction of pull. All tabs and brackets must be in double shear and be mounted in a way that will permit the system to pivot. The shoulder belt section must be made up of 2 separate belts with their own mount and mounting point.

After talking to Mike Baker of the the IHRA as of today 11/28/07 IHRA is not yet mandating the new NHRA fuel funny car sfi spec for IHRA pro nitro funny car.
