What are people running for cylinder heads in high boost (44-45 psi) blown alcohol applications?
We have been running the Dart 410 CC big M in a solid configuration but it is no longer available from Dart.
This is a standard port configuration big bock Chevy.
We are having problems with the spring cup over the intake port cracking due to the port roof being so thin. They have been welded repeatedly and the casting is getting so soft that we do not feel they are reliable any longer.

    Thanks in advance

    AJPE makes a billet head.

    Here are some other ideas:
-how about cutting out the aluminum until all the "soft" is gone? than weld bar stock back into fill the hole. This will get you to new aluminum and the bar stock will be good material.
-Use .050 keepers and that will allow you to put another .050 of aluminum thickness under the spring?

I've never done either, they are just ideas.

    Thank you for the suggestions.
Yes AJPE does make a beautiful billet head. Very expensive as well.
We are looking into the best way to try and repair these heads for the short term.
Profiler and Brodix both have a solid head option but it is a 6-8 week lead time to get the castings.
The real bad deal with this is to change over from the Dart heads to another brand will require new Jesel or T&D + a new set of TI valves.
Just a whole bunch more money than is in the budget at this time.

On Racingjunk there was a business advertising Dart solids as instock items. In the LA area don't remember the name of the place. Think he was doing an end of year clearout of stock.

If you have Dart 410's you could switch to a Brodix 3XTRA and still use you shaft rocker setup with some minor machine work. Not sure about your valves but they may work also. Bill @ 337-543-2028
