As a long time MS sufferer, I need cool air. D4/5 summer races can be brutal in the pits. I want to be able to provide my own stationary supply of refridgerated air via a small cheap window unit and small 1200-1500 watt gas 4 cyl generator. Sportsman racers should be a good source of info regarding recomendations on reliable brands and models of small portable generators. This setup will also provide alternatives for non racing activities. FYI, swamp type coolers don't provide cool enough air. Thanks, Semi-automan, soon to be no longer stuck in the trailer

you can never go wrong with a HONDA an EU3000si is outstanding and you can sit on top of it and carry on a normal conversation or the smaller
EU 1000 or EU 2000 these are linkable to double there output

    Generators

A four cylinder gas generator is a fairly big unit. I don't know that you need one that big. I had a 6000w honda RV generator and it was only a two cylinder. One of the best things about the Honda Generators is their very quiet nature. They start easy and run economically and are quiet. Good luck with your search. Air conditioning is a very nice thing in the summer months at the race track. Dave Germain

Dave: Thanks for the reply. Oops! my bad! I should have said 4 cycle not 4 cylinder. Don't want to mix gas and oil. After some searching I've discovered all generators are 4 cycle..even Honda, Yamaha and Kipor(Chinese Honda) RV forums all swear by Honda(quiet but pricey) so unless there are any surprises, I suspect a EU2000i will work OK. Thanks again.

    told ya so

    walt,

good to see you'll be back on the trail. hate to say it, but i told you your 'retirement' wouldn't last long...:). i think everyone in d4 is happy to see that.

i've had 2 honda generators...a 3000 and a 5000 and never had a lick of trouble out of them. definitely the hot ticket.

I use the EU 3000 to run my RV with a 15000w BTU airconditioner
