Need advice on steering box

Hey Guys,

My funny car has a stiletto steering rack right now and the steering seems pretty quick... At this point, I am not 100 percent sure weather it is the 12:1 or the 15:1 model.

First, is there a way to tell between the two? They never put a part number on them, so I cant tell that way.

If it is the 12:1 model, I was thinking about trying the 15:1 as it is about half the money and a direct bolt in.

My other option is to put a steering box in the thing... I have seen the strange steering box for 495, but dont know the ratio... I have seen other boxes for 600 bucks and up.

Also, not sure it matters, but the car will go 5.60's @ 280+

It is a brand new car and soo far we have only ran it out to 330 feet... We dont want to get going 250+ and have a steering issue.

 

Measure the steering arms from pin center to rod end center hole, if they are shorter than 6", change them. If not ? ??
