Need a TAD rear wing repaired!!!!!!

One of our crew members dropped the wing onto the frame and bent the leading edge. WHo can re-wrap a wing or repair one close to Virginia.

Who made the wing? I assume it is pop riveted on. Try it your self. or maybe a chassis builder near you. I know we repaired one, years back when a adj. strut broke. Spitzer just made me a custom C/F wing 5 weeks and $2800. It is beautiful Good luck Don

 

It's an old Gilmore wing with blind aircraft rivets. Just talked with Tootee in South Carolina looks like I maybe sending it to him. There is a new process to use industrial glue to attach the .025 aluminum to the Ribs; it’s the same process they use on commercial aircraft. Saw it on a few high end wings this year and it looks like the way to go.

Oddly enough, just had the Air Force maintenance shop at Langley call me. Since we are out of the Tidewater area this is close to home. Told me it will look better then new and still maintain the same aero profile. Heck if they can wrap a wing on a super sonic fighter, I’ll give those honorable men and ladies a shot at it.

Let me see what the Air Force can put together.

Curious, is the wing you have for sale 15" mounts? Looking at the possibility of having a spare in the trailer.

 

glue

Don't worry about the glue. I use the same stuff to build wings for fuel altereds. The stuff is amazing your car would come apart before the wing does.

this is not horton - he is located in belton sc. richard hartman now owns horton race cars and j ed is the car builder. i have had 3 horton racecars and all have been great. he is a good fair person to work with and does quality work. i even have had him repair other car builders work with excellent results. i know he has built several TADs for successful teams and well as NITRO funny cars. his results speak for themselves - quality work at a fair price. andy b.

 

Good to Know

Last thing I want is a court battle to get my stuff back... World is crazy enought with out this happening. Thanks for the insight!
Air Force tin benders is almost done with the wing and my insider say it looks awesome.
