Nancy Matter Qualifies at the Southern Nationals in Debut Appearance for 2007

After spending more than twenty hours in Meridian, Mississippi waiting on repairs to the new tow vehicle for The Music.com/The Who 2007 Tour Team, they finally made it to the track and qualified 15th at their debut race of the 2007 Drag Racing Season.

"We really thought we had covered all the basics to avoid breaking down on our trip to Atlanta, and then there we were with the trailer sleeping in front of a salvage yard waiting on the Dealership to fix our new Power Stroke" states Matter, "but when we ended up in the show on Saturday, it was well worth the wait".

Matter's team qualified for their first NHRA Powerade National Event in the fifteenth position. The passes they made weren't the most stellar according to what the rest of the field was running, however, it was the first time in the 14 passes that Tom Conway has been making the decisions, that the car reacted the same way on back to back passes giving him the data he needs to move the complete program to the next level.

"We've started this year with a complete different clutch set up and have made some additional changes that will now enable us to run much more competitively for the rest of the season, and for that, we thank Tom for his continued expertise and guidance". Matter continues "every one at the track was great as usual and it was fantastic to get back in the seat and see everyone as well as meet other teams that we've never raced with. We'd like to thank Frank Parker and The Parkertech Team for helping us out with some last minute issues as well. We also met Lindsey Wood and Karen Stalba and spent time with Kate and Diana Harker, all of their teams qualified as well".

The Music.Com/The Who 2007 Tour Team of Nancy Matter Racing will next be competing at the fifth of seven Lucas Oil Drag Racing South Central Division 4 Series events at the Cherokee County Motorsports Park in a few weeks.
