After a slow start to a double header weekend, Madison Payne and the Muscle Milk team found the missing pieces and was able to qualify at the second of two events at a particularly tough regional event in Woodburn, Oregon. There were a dozen cars all fighting to get into an eight-car field and temperatures were soaring near the 100 degree mark. Madison qualified seventh with a 5.48 at 275 MPH.

In round one, Madison faced Jackie Fricke who made the Woodburn trip all the way from the east coast. At the hit, it was Madison out first with a .079 reaction time to Fricke's .122. Madison's quicker start off the starting line allowed her to get to the finish line first with a 5.39 hole shot win to Fricke's quicker 5.36 at 278 MPH. Madison won by just 3 feet to advance to the semifinals.

In the semis, Madison raced Northwest favorite Kim Parker. Madison got off the starting line first but then lost traction and had to abandon the run. Meanwhile, Parker was on a solid pass and won the round. "The track is an anomaly in how you have to run the car. It can either run quick, or it cannot get down the track. We haven't been there in 10 years and the temperature reached 100 degrees. We will just go up to Seattle and look to rebound" car owner Duane Shields said.

Next, the team moves on to Pacific Raceway for the NHRA Northwest Nationals. Duane and Madison endorse and suggests trying Muscle Milk, GRP Rods, NGK Spark Plugs, Clean Boost, and Brad Anderson Enterprises.
