MSD no longer services MSD 10's.

Anybody know of any outfit that can service these?

Not ready to go to mag.

    Thanks

You may want to check with Electrimotion. At one time I believe they fixed those too. Not sure anymore.

    Try these guys.

    http://www.brpromag.com/

This is where most of us got our stuff serviced. In fact, most of us sent brand new stuff there before we ever ran it to have it gone through.

    System 1 Pro Ignition

Bob Wyman at System 1 Pro Ignition. I don't know if he services the 10 or not.

    Mag

Not sure, but to me, it sounds like it would be money well spent to go to something that IS supported and WILL be for a long time, like the Pro-Mag. I use the 8973 with my 44 but there are more options.

Bob Wyman left BR motorsports and is at system 1 now. Not sure who is at BR now but Wyman was the expert on MSD and without him there not sure I would trust them with my stuff.

That's a smart plan. Bob Wyman relocated to Steve Faria's System One facility and opened shop there.

I just went through that myself. There is no one servicing them. Parts are not available. I would suggest you move on to another ignition or you will be back into the same corner.

I had one that went bad along time ago MSD could not fix it because after they built it the box was filled with epoxy to make the electronics stronger.there are many still out there buy a few for spares if you want to stay with it i think they still make the coil

    Not so Sure

I understand what you are saying about buying a few used ones for spares. Been there and done that. But if something I am using is trouble prone and giving me problems, I don't spend MORE on it, I buy something newer and more dependable. Of course the problematic units are for sale cheap, but realize why they are cheap. When I buy something newer and more dependable AND supported AND parts available, I not only save money but I also save the headaches of trouble shooting and failed runs. JMHO

The coils are no longer produced ether. And they are one on coils, none others will work with the 10 Plus .

There different inside. The 10 plus coil is called a "stacker coil". The 10 plus ignition, they combined "induction" and "capacitive" into one unit. The coil reflects that and can only be used on the 10 Plus ignition, which is a bummer. The early 10 unit used two coils to run the ignition. Then they combined it into one and called it the 10 Plus.

    Obsolete

When a factory stops supporting a particular piece and offers something else to sell you instead, some call it " the new and improved" version, other people call it "planned obsolesence". Either way, you don't have a choice but to buy another item. Might as well make it a tough, durable and capable ignition.

    Great Question

I have wondered the same. I run 44 mag, have two complete 10 ignitions, one 10, one 10 plus with two coils that look exactly like 44 coils. I have several 44 coils, just curious if they are close.
