Msd kill switch.

I am installing a 8134 kill switch according too the Msd tech drawing only i have the pos. side switched and the neg. to chassie ground.
I have not yet connected the points box or the mag ( have not received the points box yet).
Is it normal too measure contact over the + and - terminals( too the coil ) when the relay is powered , as if it was grounded off ?
I get the same result with and without power to the kill switch.

Any help and advice is much appriciated.
