Snyder Heads Back to Joliet
Looking to Finish Up Three Race Swing with a Win

The Snyder Motorsports Race Team will head back to Joliet this weekend to finish out the final race in their three race swing. The Team, sponsored by Powersource Transportation, qualified #6 and earned a quarterfinal finish at the National event last weekend and is hoping to improve on that this weekend.

“I can’t wait to get Sally back out on the track and make a few more passes. We found an issue last weekend that has her acting like a brand new car. Hopefully, we will be able to make some more progress and get her in the winner’s circle at the end of the weekend,” said driver, Mick Snyder.

The Team ran a 5.58 to qualify #6 for the event last weekend. In the first round of eliminations they ran a 5.66 to earn the win light. In a very close second round race, Snyder ran a 5.60 but unfortunately was unable to make it to the finish line first.

“I really can’t say enough about the crew. With the rain last weekend, turn around times were short and we decided to make a few changes besides the usual maintenance after round 1, but they all pitched in and we were able to make it back up with time to spare. Even Skip, the owner of Powersource Transportation, who was in town for the race, got in the mix.”

“And, something kind of different for us, on the Wednesday before race this weekend we will be stopping in Mundelein, Illinois to have the car on display for Flatout Gaskets. Mark has been with us for a long time and it will be fun to interact with the fans and introduce some new people to the sport at the Park on the Park cruise night.”

Qualifying for the Lucas Oil divisional event begins on Friday at 5 PM. There will be two more shots on Saturday at 5 PM and 8 PM. Final eliminations begin at 1 PM Sunday.

• The Team, based out of DeMotte, Indiana, went to 4 final rounds last year and earned three wins including the Lucas Oil National event in Brainerd, MN and the Auto Club NHRA Finals in Pomona, CA.
• Snyder ran his career best ET earlier this year in Gainesville, FL, 5.54.
• With a 6th place finish in 2008, the second-generation driver earned his 4th Top 10 finish in the Lucas Oil National points standings in the last 5 years.
• The Powersource Transportation Funny Car has qualified #1 in 4 events last season.
• The Team has represented Division 3 in the prestigious Jeg’s All-Star race for three straight years.
