Runner-up Finish for Snyder in Indy

This past weekend, Mick Snyder and the Snyder Motorsports Race Team were in Indianapolis, Indiana for the Division 3 event. After putting up an impressive 5.61 in qualifying to earn the #1 spot and the Spitzer low qualifier money, Mick made it to the final round of the event before parts failure ended his day.

“It’s frustrating when your day ends like that. We were ahead, but when something breaks in the motor there is really nothing we can do about it. I had a pretty good fire, but all the safety equipment worked and the new underbody paint worked well so that didn’t get hurt,” said Snyder.

After qualifying #1 for the event with a 5.61, Snyder earned the first round win and ran a session low 5.63 in the semi’s to take the win and lane choice in the finals.

“Overall, it was a pretty good weekend and a runner-up finish is still good. The car was running well and Dad had a good handle on the tune-up. Since it was the first race of the year in D3, we got to see some good friends that we hadn’t seen all winter and some people from home made the trip down to watch; it was really nice having them around. I wish things could have ended better, but we are going to get this thing back together and take her to the Thunder Nationals in Martin, MI and try to make it to the winner’s circle.”

The next event for the Team will be the Thunder Nationals at US131 Motorsports Park in Martin, MI on May 9th.
