Snyder Debuts New Powersource Transportation FC in Indy

Mick Snyder and the Snyder Motorsports Race Team were in Indianapolis, Indiana for the Division 3 opener this past weekend to debut their brand new Ford Mustang Powersource Transportation Top Alcohol Funny Car. And although the former 3-time divisional champs did not win the race, they were extremely happy with the progress they made over the weekend.

On Thursday, the Team unloaded the new car for the first time and made a half-pass down the famed quarter-mile. The car went remarkably straight and driver Mick Snyder was impressed with the way the car handled and felt. On their second and final pass of the day, Snyder took the car to about 1000 ft. running a 5.80 at 223 MPH.

“We were really happy with how things went on Thursday. Spitzer and the guys made us a great car and we are excited to see how things go the rest of the year. We have a learning curve now, but if we can get past that, we feel like we will be right in the thick of things in this competitive class,” said Snyder.

The Powersource Transportation Team qualified #4 for the event with a 5.72 at 252 MPH. In the first round, Snyder ran a 5.77 and just barely missed taking the win light by .001 or about 8 feet at the other end of the track.

“You always come into a race hoping to win, but with everything we had going on we feel like the weekend was a success. After all the long hours that were spent putting this car together the last few weeks, to go out there and have it run as well as it did right out of the box is a huge weight off our shoulders. Now we just have to concentrate on learning what the new car wants and what we need to do to get this car into the winner’s circle for Skip and all the people at Powersource Transportation. We are looking forward to the next time we can get out to the track and gain some more information to help up towards our goals.”
