Snyder Earns First Win of the Season in Columbus

When three time division champion Mick Snyder turned on the win light in the final in Columbus, Ohio not only was it his first win of the season, but his first win ever at the National Trail Raceway. And, when the Powersource Transportation Team entered the winner’s circle, Mustang Sally earned the first funny car Wally in the history of Spitzer Race Cars.

“I am so excited to get the Powersource Transportation funny car in the winner’s circle. We have had a good car pretty much all year, but we have had the learning curve of a new set up to contend with and it has ended our day a couple of times in eliminations when we thought we had a good chance. Now that we have this one under our belt, hopefully we will be able to get on some kind of roll here,” said Snyder.

The 27 year-old driver qualified number two with a 5.75. In the first round of eliminations, Snyder ran low ET of the event 5.69 to earn the win light. After running a 5.81 in the semi’s, the car went right down the groove in the finals running a 5.75 to earn the victory.

“This win was special for so many reasons. It was the first time Powersource Transportation was in the winner’s circle as a primary sponsor. We really can’t thank Skip and Barb enough for the help they give us. And to be able to give Mike and Karen their first win with a funny car is really special to me. And, then sharing the winner’s circle with Marty, I don’t know what could have made this a better day.”

    Quick Facts
