Snyder Ready to Defend Title in Brainerd

After taking some time off, Mick Snyder and the Powersource Transportation sponsored Snyder Motorsports Top Alcohol Funny Car Team were back in action last weekend at Cordova Dragway. The race, where Snyder earned the number one qualifying spot and a semi-final finish, was the first out of 4 races they will be competing in over the next 5 weeks. This weekend, they will head up to Brainerd, Minnesota to defend their 2008 Lucas Oil Nationals title.

“It is really nice to be back in the car. The way our schedule worked this year we were always planning on taking the month of July off. And it was nice to spend some time with family and friends, but now it is time to get back to racing and the challenge of getting this Powersource Transportation mustang in the winner’s circle. The guys at Spitzer Race Cars built us a great car and Dad has given us the horsepower to get the job done, we just haven’t been able to put it all together,” said Snyder.

“It was last year right around this time that everything started to click. And we ended up with 3 wins, including this event. So hopefully, we will be able to defend that title and bring home the Wally at the end of the weekend. Skip and Barb from Powersource Transportation will be coming up to get their first Brainerd experience this weekend and it will be fun to show them the Zoo and introduce them the to great Minnesota fans.”

Qualifying for the event begins on Friday at 1:30 PM with the second shot coming at 4:30 PM. On Saturday, the Team will have one qualifying pass down the quarter mile at 1 PM before first round of eliminations at 4:15 PM.
