I was looking at driving this older 1985 ish psi d 220% over turning around 85-8700 rpm I think that's around 20400 rpm screw speed@8500 rpm wil this thing still make good air at this speed and will it hold together. Thanks Craig

    PSI D Speed

I have a PSI D that is dated 98 and it has a sticker that states to return it to PSI for service if 26,400 rpm is exceeded.

It doesn't that is what makes the screw compressor so great.

I called and taked with them today. He said to comply with sfi they spin them like 43000 rpm for 10 min and 3 cycles of that. He just chuckled and said you can't put a big enough pulley on the bottom and a small enough one on top to hurt it. So I think the 26400 rpm sticker is sfi bull$hit. He said the same thing they really don't run out of steam and they like rpm. Makes me wonder about the bearings. How often should they be changed ?? Thanks Craig

    Overdrive

There was a car that we ran against in the sand that ran around 200%. He had a custom pulley and pump extension to get there. They never had a issue with the blower but they could not make a quail shaft last. Didnt run any faster then all of us running normal overdrives.
