You can run 10:1 on methanol with no boost it just takes a lean mix. My Dad ran a 9.17 in my uncles 56 chevy with a 11.5:1 454 naturally aspirated injected on methanol. My friends 8:1 all iron 454 ran a 6 with a 8/71 and a automatic(with a converter built here in Alaska) in a dragster, I think he was tipping the can a little bit. Ive run 14:1 aluminum water head(dry) BBC with 43 ponds of boost 14/71. As far as how much boost you can run with 10:1 on methanol, I'd say 100psi.

Your boost is limited by the physical strength of the parts. Blown alcohol can withstand just about any final compression ratio, as long as the parts are up to it.

Pulling tractors, for example, will have multiple stages of boost, 150#s plus. Final compression ratios of 90:1 and higher. They are limited by physical strength of stuff, and weight isn't a concern like in an acceleration sport.

10:1 with the proper build up (IE: good rods, rod bolts, crank, block & pistons that get maintenanced properly) can easily withstand 50psi and MUCH more.

You can go as fast as your wallet is thick, is an old joke.

I run 20-23 #s of boost in my 10.4:1 small chevy. That is what it takes to get my dragster to run 7.00/198 or so.

    Is this Royz?
