    Is there any match race opportunities on the west coast for a low 6 second car? 6.0-6.30?

    I can't afford to run competitively in Top Alcohol, but there doesn't seem to be anything in between.

    We're in western Canada and the majority of our schedule is match racing. we go as fast as we can with the little budjet we have and have a blast doing it. Last year was our first year in TAFC after 20 years of TAD. The cars around here run in the high 5.9 to 6.5 second range- lots of cars around here too!

    Jim,

    You might want to look into Top Eliminator West. It is a 6.30 class, run watcha brung deal run in cunjunction with the PSCA races. I have been helping out on Herb Linders car and we have slowed the car down enough to win in Vegas and runner up this past weekend at Speedworld.

    Frankie,
    Yea, I spoke with Gary Dale yesterday. His beef is that there is no payout. Basically racing for your own money. I'm not looking to make money, hey this is a hobby, but it would be nice to recoup some traveling expenses.

    Jim;
    See Lawren's post of March 16th on this site. I don't know about you but a $6900.00 guaranteed purse sure beats the $180.00 it cost me in entry and "purse" this weekend for 1 day of T.E.W. at Speedworld. I would think that running a 6.80 in 6500 ft air is challenging enough for you. I know it is for us. Hope to see you on Memorial Day in Albq!!!

    Dave,
    I just sold my old engine and am in the process of buying an IHRA motor. That's why I mentioned low 6's.

    You might want to look at The CALIFORNIA INDEPENDENT FUNNY CAR ASSOCIATION, www.cifcaracing.com or contact Jim Mahr at Good Vibrations: 1-800-576-7661. They conduct races in California , Arizona and Nevada. Most of the cars are running in the low 6's.

    Dave,

    Did you guys get any good input from the hits you made at Speedworld with the new blower?

    Also are you still ooking for help on the car, I know at the end of the year you put up a deal on the crew members that you were looking for some help. GLad to see that you had Mitch Bowen helping you at Speedworld. Ive known him for years and he knows his way around a TAFC.

    Frankie;

    Sorry it took me so long to answer your post. I have been busy with the Memorial Day SOS race in Albq. and getting the car ready for Bakersfield. Yes, we were pleased with the data we got that weekend, even though the runs didn't meet our expectations. To answer your other question we were/are looking for additional help. If your interested give me a call. Thanks
