master cut off switch

    I have installed a Super Mag IV and now I need advice how to do the master cut off switch. Thanks for any suggestions.

    But I dont think the mallory will kill the mag when the battery is shut off.

    Back when I ran mallory mags I used a solenoid that vertex use to make that was open when you put power to it and closed to kill the mag when you took the power away like the msd one.

    I used an external, continuous duty, high amperage, normally open relay for mine. I believe it was capable of up to 250A continuous from McMaster-Carr.

    Cost was about 25.00 around 10 years ago. Still works well to this day. Kill the power to the back of the vehicle, and it grounds the mag.

    Solenoid

    Thanks for the replies.
    I have ordered an MSD solenoid it looks like a good way to go.
    My master switch has the 2 extra lugs for the solenoid.:)
