The Rapid Transit Race Team will make the trip down to Houston Raceway Park from Robinson, Illinois this weekend for the NHRA O’Reilly Spring Nationals. After a tough quarterfinal loss in Gainesville a couple weeks ago, they are ready to get the Knoll Gas – Torco Racing Fuels Top Alcohol Dragster back into action.

“We are really looking forward to getting out on the track this weekend. The car is running well and if we can get some luck on our side we should be able to get few round wins for our great sponsors. In Gainesville the car showed improvement. We plan to take that data and build on it this weekend,” said driver, Marty Thacker.

In Gainesville, the Team was the only blown car left standing after the first round of eliminations in the highly competitive class, further solidifying their place among the top blown alcohol cars in the country.

“Hopefully, the weather will hold off this weekend and we will see a lot of good racing. It is supposed to be a little hotter than Gainesville so that could be good for our operation. Our goal is to go out there and run the best we can; ideally that would be enough to hold off our competitors.”

Qualifying for the event begins on Friday at 1:30 PM with a second shot coming at 5 PM. On Saturday morning, the Team will have their final qualifying shot at 10 AM. Eliminations begin on Saturday afternoon at 1 PM and continue Sunday after the first pro session.
