Texas Roadhouse Brings Drag Racing to the Restaurant
    Marty Nothstein to host patrons

Milford, Michigan – This coming Wednesday, June 6th, the Texas Roadhouse Dodge Charger will make a special appearance at the Texas Roadhouse location in Joliet, Illinois. Prior to racing at the Torco Racing Fuels Route 66 NHRA Nationals, June 7th – 10th, driver Marty Nothstein will be at the restaurant, from 7:00 – 9:00 P.M., to meet race fans and diners. Nothstein, an Olympic cycling gold medalist, will sign autographs, show off his 260 m.p.h. Dodge Charger Top Alcohol Funny Car and talk about racing on two and four wheels. The Joliet Texas Roadhouse is at 3151 Tonti Drive, which is south of I-55, just off Rt. 30 (N. Plainfield Rd.). Dial 815-577-9003 for more information and call-ahead seating.

“This is a great opportunity for racers to get some great barbecue,” said Nothstein, “and for restaurant customers to get a taste for NHRA drag racing. We’ll give away some Texas Roadhouse doorprizes and two tickets to the race, courtesy of the National Hot Rod Association.”

The ParkerTech Racing Services Dodge Charger has been tubbed, scrubbed, rubbed, tested and prepped for the restaurant and race. With ever increasing performance improvements, the team has had some significant round wins, including an event win. Frank Parker, team owner, said, “We’ve picked up a lot, since the beginning of the season. Marty has gotten a really good feel for the car and he’s not intimidated by anyone or anything on the track. If our performance increments, this weekend, are consistent with past races, the fans should see some good racing.”

As of June 4, 2007, Nothstein and the Texas Roadhouse Dodge Charger are 10th in national TAFC points and 1st in Division 3.

The first qualifying run for alcohol cars takes place at 2:00 P.M. Friday, with the second following at 5:30 P.M. The cars qualify again at 9:00 A.M. Saturday. Pre-race ceremonies begin on Sunday, June 10th, at 10:30 A.M., and the first rounds of eliminations get the green light at 11:00 A.M.

Rt. 66 Raceway is famous for its spectator-friendly facilities and spine tingling drag racing excitement. For ticket, schedule and track information, call 815-727-RACE (7223) or visit the track website at www.route66raceway.com

Texas Roadhouse opened in 1993 and, just 14 years later, now has more than 251 locations in 44 states. In 2006, readers of Consumer Reports named Texas Roadhouse the Top Concept in its Pub/Grill category and Forbes ranked it one of the 200 Best Small Companies.
