FOLLOW A DREAM STREAKS INTO NHRA SUPERNATIONALS AT ENGLISHTOWN

Marstons Mills, MA – Follow A Dream, Incorporated (“FAD”) and it’s Top Alcohol Funny Car driver Marty Nothstein will try to extend the team’s streak of three straight finals appearances this weekend (June 20-23, 2008) at the NHRA SuperNationals at Englishtown, New Jersey.

Since a first round elimination at its season opener at the Southern Nationals in Atlanta in late April, Follow A Dream has advanced to three straight finals at Northeast Division 1 events in Virginia, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Nothstein, the former Olympic Gold Medal track cyclist, piloted the Permatex/Wynn’s/Texas Roadhouse 2008 Chevrolet Impala SS to second place finishes in each of those events.

“I can’t say enough about how this team has responded to the challenges we’ve faced early in the season,” said Follow A Dream owner and crew chief Jay Blake, who is the only totally blind crew chief in all of motor sports. “We really started from scratch four races ago with a new car, a new driver and a new tuner. To come to Englishtown on a streak of three straight finals appearances is phenomenal! However, we’re not resting on our laurels…we want to find the winner’s circle at this weekend’s national event in Englishtown.”

“We’ve hit triples in the last three races, now it’s time to hit a home run,” said Nothstein. “ Jay has done a great job of keeping the team focused on the job at hand. We’ve learned something new every run this season, and we’ve been able to build on that knowledge with each and every run.”

One of the highlights of the young season occurred last weekend in Atco, New Jersey when Follow A Dream was able to beat defending national champ Frank Manzo in the first round of eliminations. The victory snapped Manzo’s win streak of 47 straight elimination victories.

Follow A Dream and Nothstein are currently third in the Division 1 season points standings. FAD’s 192 points puts the team 21 points behind current points leader Mickey Ferro.
