If the rumors are true that Frank will be in Columbus this weekend, he can clinch the championship with a win, which would give him 808 points. He'll have tough competition with Snyder, Townsend, and others there, but even a semi or runner-up would put the title well out of reach.
Brian Hough has a maximum points potential of 818 points, but he will not earn that many as he can't be in Medford and Dallas at the same time and is not likely to go to Richmond. Cy Chesterman, the only other driver with a possibility to win it at this point, will only have a chance to do so if Frank loses in the first round at his remaining divisionals and wins no more nationals.

strange things have happened, but i can not imagine manzo losing in the first round at each of his remaining events.

wishfull thinking Bruce, not with potential mindshaft conditions if he wraps it up in columbus i believe the first 5.40 run will take top priority!!! Frank has been not the Frank of old, running to set low et and trying to rotate the earth,(altough it seems he has anyway!!) he's run to win and win carefully.
wanting to get that first sub 5.50 run may be our only chance but i guess i would not bet on that either.. we all will have to keep our fingers crossed and send it. what is it that they say (if you want to be the man ya have to beat the man) FRANK is the man.. see ya next weekend!!
