Mag Shuttoff With 8973 Controller

    When using a mag 44 will shutting off the power to the MSD 8973 mag controller shut the engine off and not harm any of the electronics are do I need to use a mag kill switch also? Thanks

    MSD said you should always ground the coil, but they didn't say why.

    Thanks for the info. I tried MSD first but never got pass hold so I thought someone here would know are tried this before. Sure would make wiring a lot cleaner.

    I have been using the power to the six shooter to shut engine off for 4 years. Call David Lehey @ Elictrimotion. One points box problem in all that time.

    on our pro mag 12 with the 8973 we had problems breaking battery terminals all the battery powered was trans brake and 8973 when the battery went out the mag would shut off hope this helps
