on a mild blown alcohol big block mopar--injected , 871 on 9% overdrive--10-1 compression.....2500#door car...have a mallory magIII ....also have a m.s.d. distr. 6al box set-up ...is the magneto going to be better?? how to hook a tach to mag [does not have ext.tach drive] or run the m.s.d. distr. is it powerful enough for this blower /injection motor??? is a 16volt battery enough to crank this over fast enough with magneto?? being told to run two 12 volts in series for 24v system ...is this necessary?? will a tach get a signal off of coil/transformer from a mallory super mag III ?? is there a ign.box for a magneto, to help with tach/rpm levels/to operate shifter solenoids ect...? thanks danny

Dont run the 6 box,it will give you fits. 7Al-3,or 2 will work. You need to convert the signal to square wave if running the mag,If its an autometer, they have a converter. $60 i believe. For a self starter, The choices are either run 2 in parallel for the amps,or put a external plug and start off a battery pak, or run the 16 volt hi amp.24 makes em spin fast, but its hard on starters.

I run MSD12LT mag with one 16 volts batt. work very well , you can use MSD p/n 8132 to convert magneto signal into 12 volts square wave signal for your shifter or other accessories.
