Putting together an altered, 125" F/C chassis, with an old blown alky BBC, 500". Running a 1.80 glide and looking for a tire for some 16X16 beadlocks. Any one using the M/T 3186 or 18970 Hoosier also looking at a 1490 Goodyear.
    Thanks for the help.

We run the Mickey 3186. It is a good tire with plenty of service life for us. It gets my vote.

We have had good luck with M/T and Hoosier, the M/T's lasted a long time and I liked the sidewall more than the Hooiser. I would recommend either over a GY.

We run a bigblock setup with a powergilde in out TAFC last year before switching to the hemi and lenco and we ran the goodyear 1490's with absolutley no problems. Never ran hoosiers or M/T's though.

Thanks for the replys. Ordered off the 3186 M/T for the car. This should be a fun project, we got the Boudakian brothers back involved with this altered. The last time they ran was at Pomona in 75 and they pulled out their engine and sold their old altered back then. We will see how a 31 year old blower motor works in a new chassis.

I run a cifca f/c, 525" chevy, powerglide, beadlocks, and goodyear 3199 D-2's and have had great results with these tires. I have not tried Mickeys or the Hoosiers though so I can't compare. My only problem with the Goodyears is $$$$. I just bought a new set 2 weeks ago...$1137.53. I know the others are cheaper but my car really works well with the 3199's.
