Taking a page from Kevin Harvick's 2006 NASCAR Busch Grand National Series playbook, a highly energetic Morgan Lucas will mount an all-out assault on the Lucas Oil championship in 2007, racing his family-owned Lucas Oil Top Alcohol Dragster, in conjunction with his Top Fuel driving duties on the NHRA POWERade
Thats great Morgan, How many rabbits can YOU eat?

Maybe Morgan longs for another Walley. Last year was pretty lean.

He should let his mom run the a/fuel car, all she has to do is upgrade from super comp. Now there would be a story. ;)

From a marketing point of view this is very good news for the alcohol class. Running both classes will be recognized and should be marketed like the Busch series. We just need NHRA to want to participate in this plan. It seems with the great car counts in some areas and the money invested in the class, marketing is not a priority with the association.
We need to market and create the personalities to sell and bridge to a fan base. There is a story to be sold. A great one too. It can't just be about racecar's. That is a reward for the racers. I think all alcohol car's should have names like the 70's to compliment the above mentioned personalities.
Needs to be fun for the fans.
I do like the other thread outlining a plan to get new fans to the tracks. Great ideas

Wish Morgan luck as he will have his hands full in Div. IV. At least you can't say they are cherry picking. I also agree that it is good for the class.

the truth, shall set you free

maybe he should think about winning one race in a fuel car first instead of how many $100 bills he is going to paint on his helmet. Also, if he can't win a championship with boggs tuning his afueler, it definently ain't the car.

It takes more than a tuner to when a race in any class much less a championship.

Hmm... I somewhat agree with you, but at the same time I dont... That statement is more true as the speed of the car increases, but look at the Troxel-Kalitta Semi's at Pomona... THAT, is what gave Schumacher his win... and it was all because she finally got a good light... so a driver can win championships... but I would definately say the weight lies more with the tuners... The sad part is they usually aren't the ones that get the praise...

This is an example of what I said earlier. This is from Drag Race Central this weekend:
"Everything is going great with both of our Lucas Oil cars," said Lucas, still in pursuit of his first professional victory. "We're gaining ground on the Top Fuel car setup, but in our Top Alcohol car, we ran my career best sportsman time of 5.21 seconds (270.70 mph) on our third pass. That says a lot about our Lucas Oil Alcohol crew with Steve Boggs turning the wrenches along with everyone on our sportsman team. They already work so well together and with camaraderie like that, I feel we are definitely going to be challenging for the Lucas Oil Championship. On top of that, our Top Fuel team has made great strides in improvement with both of our pro teams working together. Melanie made her first attempt today and we're in the direction of making a good start. I'm real proud of everybody getting everything together and getting it out here to make the steps in testing."
This will continue to give us coverage. Thanks Morgan
