Greetings and happy holidays to all!

Everyone seems to agree that the LODRS autograph sessions were a positive in 2013. It was suggested (on another thread) that improved communication would allow teams/drivers to better plan and prepare to participate. Knowing that we have a couple of moving targets (drivers and the race schedule), my suggestion would be to have an email list of all of the Alcohol Drivers potentially interested, allowing them to be notified for each event. What we have found is NHRA usually chooses to do these at the Lucas or Mello Yello trailers on the midway. NHRA typically finds a time slot right after a pro session and will make announcements on the p.a. system to inform fans coming out of the stands.

I believe once the NHRA assigns a time slot (usually on set up day) all drivers entered for that event should receive an invitation via email. The interested ones can sign up, the rest don't have to feel in any way bothered or pressured by the idea or activity, and no one will be stuck with the job of walking through the pits putting people on the spot. We have found that NHRA and Lucas have a best number of drivers in mind; first to sign, up to that number makes the most sense to me.

I'm not looking to step on anyone's toes here. Ray, Justin, Eric, and others have put forth efforts to make most of these really great. Please take this as a compliment, a suggestion, and an offer to handle "coordinating" these when present. If helpful, LuAnn and I will maintain a list, notify, create a sign up sheet, and communicate with the tower at all national events we attend in 2014. Feedback is welcome.

Good luck to all in 2014!

John, that would be great and your and your team's help is well appreciated. If needed, PSA has a list of racers with contact information that we can use to start or maybe we just send a sign-up before each event.
