I just got an altered chassis and I will be running a blown BBC, now the question is this, I have a real nice Dedenbear shorty transmission and I guess my concern is should I change out the planatery and put a tailhousing on the shorty or just run the shorty, I need to shaft this deal either way. Is the shorter planatery stronger or will it matter with a longer shaft? just trying to keep it simple and I do have a nice spare stock length 'glide...so what to do??
Maybe run the shorty and get a shorty kit for the spare?

we have a shorty glide and have not had any problems, and it leaves room for a floor for your feet.As far as the driveshaft goes we have a 1/4 inch tube that covers it with a mount to the chassis under the seat and tabs for all of the tail bolts.

I was of the understanding that the longer shaft is a little more forgiving and less prone to breakage.

    tail shat

Never broke a shorty. Input shafts yes. Unless you have the extra money you don't need, run what you have. Don
