Little M Chevy, BBC pump

I'm going to run a BBC pump on my little M. Anyone know of a driveshaft that'll fit? It's a 400main LIttle M, and they take a 'special' driveshaft that is turned down to miss the rear main cap.

Is it ok to 'shorten' the pump drive or the drive shaft?

The difference is 1/8", .125

 

You can press the pump shaft in the drive gear of the pump for the difference

 

if length of shaft is a problem just use a m99 hvs mel pump it uses a sbc length shaft so no length problems and the pump has same gear sets as bb chevy pump

FYI:

I purchased a M77HV (High Vol BBC Pump) for my small chevy. I read what Shawn wrote on ITA. I pulled my pump apart and found that the shaft for the drive gear, has 1/8" recess on the bottom, allowing me to push the shaft into the drive gear the requied 1/8".

I measured how much shaft was protruding above the rear main cap, and now it is .002 LESS than my regular SBC pump.
