    Hi Guys,
Anyone had any experience with running 34.5x17 tires on non-beadlock wheels, with liners but no tubes inside the liners?
Why I ask is, we are about to drill a second hole for the Hoosier liner/tubes deal, for a N/FC, but the team helping us our here is a top notch Top Alcohol team running a TAD, and they use non-beadlock rims, liners but no tubes, never heard of this until they told us. They are very experienced, so what gives, do you think they'll be OK for a N/FC?

yes as said it can be done and on a topflight team where they are changing tires regulary and liners with them its great saves weight ect ect
but... they can leak internaly if the liners are reused, or if the wrong wheels are used,
its up to you... tubes make it bullet proof but that's your choice just be aware of the potential problems

    Tubeless liners

    Hi,

I have a set of American Racing Trakstars that were custom built as tubeless liner wheels. They have been sitting and rolling the car around for 6 years and haven't leaked at all. There were originally some wheels out that were supposedly made for the tubeless deal that leaked often and bad. A friend of mine had Welds that were supposed to be tubeless and leaked so bad that I had to micromanage the tire pressures in the staging lanes big time. We put tubes back in them and that fixed the leaking.

I'm not sure who bought the Trakstar rights but they work well. I was told there was a significant 60 ft time reduction in the switch from tube and liner deals.

    Hope this helps some,
    Trevor Sherwood

    Yep

We have run tubeless liners for years. Weld makes a wheel that works well with the Hoosier liners. Even use Hoosier liners with Goodyear tires. Very important that your second valve stem is in the exact right location and the liners do not last forever. Seems like need new ones every four or five mountings.

Don't you have to make sure and use tubeless liners and not the old liners that have the slots in the bead?

I have two sets of convo pro liner wheels. one set has goodyears and the other has hoosier tires. Both use the hoosier liner with no tube and work good. The goodyear tire is a bit of a pain to fill if you don't get the bead just right though.
