Why are most liners that I see Convo Pros? Is a liner any wheel that is not a beadlock? I have seen a set that have the gold billet top fuel centers but I dont know what kind of wheels they were.

Those are the "over priced" Welds for the Hoosier "tubeless" liner system that doesn't work! Yes, I paid a LOT of $$ for this system, worked for a while but now Hoosier will only mount them with tubes (and added weight). Problem was they "equalize" and very rapidly! Some are probably still having luck with this?? Curious to know. I sure liked the idea of getting rid of that rotating weight:confused::mad:

    Just that
tire & liner with NO tube in the liner (not bead lock)
but you have to have the liner wheel made for the hoosier liner
Weld makes them and i think American makes a version also

A team I was on a few years back had horrible problems with Weld's either equalizing or just plain completely blocking off the the bottom of the low pressure valve stem (usually unexpectedly in the staging lanes!). The valve stem for the low pressure side must be drilled dead-nuts perfectly between the bead of the tire and the liner. Grooving the inside of the wheels with the grooves going from the valve stem torwards the bead of the wheel helped, but minimally. When we began having so much trouble I then noticed some very seasoned pros like Manzo, The Newb and payne still running their ages old Convo's. I'm unaware Weld has begun making wheels specifically for the Hoosier liner. Wish we could have had them back then!
