    Hello everyone.

Some of you may or may not be aware of the fight NHRA Division 4 announcer Lynn Nickerson is having with cancer. He just recently got out of the hospital after his latest round of chemotherapy.

Let's try to send him some holiday cheer with some cards, pictures, letters or whatever you think is appropriate. Lynn is one of those rare people with such a love and energy for the sport, you can really tell from listening to him announce. Let's show some of that 'luv' back.

    Lynn's mailing address is:

    Lynn Nickerson
    5708 Orval Circle
    Ft. Worth, TX 76117

GET WELL SOON LYNN! - From all of us at ITA, ICR and IFB!

Lynn is a truly great announcer and an even better person.
I don't know how many of you know this but Lynn is also a great motocross anouncer.

I had no idea, already sent him a christmas card a couple of days ago, he gave me his address back at the first D-4 race I attended in 06.

Best wishes for him, he is a complete motorsport enthusiaist (sp?) and a WONDERFUL Announcer!!

Best to him for full recovery.

    another way to help

i took this off the Div. 4 website:

I am sorry that this article is going to be more like a letter to everyone here in D-4 than an article. Last week Olan Gotcher, Craig Anderson, Lonnie Grim and I went to visit with Lynn Nickerson in Fort Worth. Now as all of you know Lynn is battling cancer and it is taking all of his strength and our prayers to put up a courageous fight. Lynn is having to take Chemo and it is really taking a toll on both his body and his spirit. While we were there I had the privilege to meet Lynn's brother Johnnie and his son Lynn, Jr. Many of you know Lynn, Jr, but this was my first time to meet this fine young man. Lynn and I share the fact that he is currently in and I am retired from the US Navy. Lynn was telling us many stories about life in Baghdad and the toils and troubles that the service men and women face there on a daily basis. In talking with Lynn we decided that we would put out a call for people who desire to do so to send care packages to the sailors and soldiers who are stationed with him. There are all kinds of things that you can put in a care package but some of the things mentioned were: Cookies, M&M's, Cheeze Its, Peanuts, crackers, or anything he can share with friends. If you don't feel like sending a package then just a card or letter letting them know that we are thinking about them and we are proud of their sacrifice, especially at this time of year. I would also encourage anyone else who reads this and knows of a family member or relative or even a family friend who has someone or is someone serving overseas to please drop me an e-mail and we will include them on the list of people to remember. They also enjoy reading magazines so if you have read your National Dragster or Sports Illustrated then drop it in as well. Lynn shared a funny story about a 3rd grade student who had sent a card that was addressed to any soldier. In this card the young person thanked him for doing what he does and then made the statement, "What did you do to get in such a mess?" I am sure that that statement has crossed every servicepersons mind more than once.

Here is the address where you can write or send packages to Lynn Nickerson, Jr.

    CM3 Nickerson

    NMCB 74 Det 3

    Unit 60428

    FPO AA 34099-5024

or you can write to him at peloncito_19@yahoo.com

Please help me to remind them that they are not forgotten and that we do support them and keep them in our prayers!
