Mobil 1 is what Snyder recommends, seems to take the heat as well as any without burning. Keep an eye on the transbrake unit, the older ones (around 2002-03) had a tendency to fall into the pan on occasion, retainer nut needs to be drilled and pinned. Later units may have that already.

You can use any oil you want to from hydraulic fliud to corn oil. The thicker the viscosity, the more power transmitted but with more parasitic loss. For our combo we settled on Mobil 1 5w-30. Keep in mind you have to know how hot your converter gets your oil on your combo the way that you run it. Won't be the same as mine. Do your homework of the oils available. If there was a 10 weight oil that could go to 500*F and not thin down, and never degrade, not pick up dirt, we would use that------but I haven't found it yet.

Anyone find any good buys on the Mobil 1. How often changing and your application. Anyone trying to filter and clean the Mobile 1. This stuff is like liquid gold in price at the local Autoparts Store.

i cannot speak for using hydraulic fluid in a lenco drive because both the lenco and the converter drive use the same fluid - but - i can say that using cat hydraulic fluid in a bruno converter drive works. the bruno can use separate fluids in the lenco and the drive units. i have and do run cat hydraulic fluids in my bruno drive - but - before you go out and try it you should talk with your converter people to make sure it will not hurt your converter. wherein lies the problem - too thin a fluid will cause excessive heat and hurt not only the converter but the bruno brake bands. there is a gain in both et and mph to be found by using cat hydraulic fluids - but - it depends on your needs from your combination - more or less slippage - more or less converter lock up , etc. it took much testing to find which way to go but once i found what works for me i said it should be an individual thing since there appears to be too many variables to answer each question. if you need .04 increase in et and also 400 more usable rpm in a 1/4 i can tell you cat hydraulic fluid in a bruno works - but make sure you use a good bruno fluid cooler!!
