can i use just commpressed air in my lenco bottle instead of co2 if so how much pressure do i need , i wouldnt think that a compressor would pump anywhere near enough pressure

I don't think your compressor is going to make enough air pressure. I like to keep 900lbs in my air bottle.
I think your air pods require somewhere around 240lbs???- so even if your compressor could make 250 lbs of "AIR" in your bottle , by the time you shifted high gear , for your burnout and then dumped it off to back up I don't think you would have enough head pressure to make a pass.

    Nitrogen

Has anyone considered/tried using nitrogen? Dry, no icing issues, readily available (used in aircraft, mainly the tyres but other systems as well).

The pressure you require to shift the Lenco's varies depending on which one you have. A CS-1 requires 150 psi where as a CS-2 I believe requires 250 psi. This can amke a difference on storage requirements. There is no way that a compressor filled air bottle can meet the requirements of either tranny. Remember if you run out of air the transmissions shift back to 1st gear and that will only happen once when you are in 3rd gear.

    lenco air supply

We are using air to shift a b&j and a lenco right now and it works great. You just need to contact your local scuba dive shop. Get a scuba tank and fabricate a fill hose to fit the first stage regulator. The professional scuba compressors deliver dry, high pressure air to around 3000 psi. You must regulate the air to less than the pressure rating of your bottle used to deliver the air to your shifters. Most co2 bottles are rated to 1800-2000 psi. Also you will need to make sure that your scuba tank and delivery bottle are up to current visual inspection and hydro pressure test cert. Good luck and stay safe!

Been using Nitrogen for YEARS. Keep 2-large tanks in the trailer. Great for tires, air tools, pro-jacks, etc...No noisy compressor. Fill air bottles to 2500# Lots of advantages
