I wanted opinions on this, We have a rodeck 526 with a 14/71 HH Roots blower and a lenco trans in a TA/FC. What would be a good RPM to launch on a good track I realize we will have to change for different track conditions. Just looking at what everybody else is leaving at so we can maybe get a idea where we are. Thanks

Jimmy Thurston! Get in here and help this guy! Give away all your secrets and then go buy a LENCODRIVE! Then you can be as slow as me. Love Ya Jim. Lets have a foot race at the Norwalk Divisional at Midnight Friday?

I Would Think 5500 To 5800 Should Be Your Target

One of the big variables is your rear end gear ratio, and also your trans ratio. In our TAFC with a 511 BAE, 14:71 HH retro, 4.30 rear, 1.71 trans, and M/T 34.5" on beadlocks we launch at 6000-6200 on real good tracks, and as low as 5000-5300 on real slick tracks.

how far out is the motor?
if it is 64" or more you might be able to go 6K at launch with your combo
How high does it carry the front end with this combo??

Ken Cox made the first 125" BB/FC chassis (that I am aware of) in 1978 (Challenger body). Originally the engines were ~62" out.

I went out to the shop tonight with a plum bob , axle center line to front spindle centerline is a 125" the engine is out 64" from the rear axle centerline to the rear edge of the mid plate. So I guess we will just find the sweet spot and see what happens. Jamie
