Just a big tip of the cap to the Heartland Park Topeka staff for an excellent job of putting a big crowd through the gate for the divisional there this past weekend!

In a good example of why summer time races should be on Saturday's, when we went to the line for Saturday's final qualifier, the Top Eliminator club grandstand was about 80% capacity, pit side grandstands about 50% and spectator side grandstands about 20%.

When we came back around for round one, the crowd probably doubled....hmm...drag racing on a Saturday night, sounds like a winner. Top Eliminator Club was probably 90%, pit side 70-80%, and spectator side was around 50%.

It was one of the most enthusiastic crowds I've seen in a while...cheering loudly for good runs and local racers.

Great track, great facility, and it was a pleasure to race where we were 'wanted'.

I think I speak on behalf of most of the racers that attended your event. Job well done!

Now we just need to work on a poker game at d5 races.....

Will, you are right on the mark. Whatever the Topeka staff did should be looked at by others. It was cool to see a divisional with people in the seats.

I'm surprised you weren't driving into K.C. every night to the casinos. You knew they had 'em up there, didn't ya?
