I have just bought a set of the koni rear shocks. I think they are the 8212 spa1(19.5 inch long). Have no idea were to start with them tune wise. They are off the shelf valving. I have 110lb springs on them.
The car weighs 2780lb with driver. 52% front weight. 4 links is at 52 and 7 3/4. Powerglide with 7100 conv. Leave at idle. Blown bbc showing 2100. 34.5/17/16 hoosier. 112in wheelbase. Had strange shocks on it, seemed to work well to about 330ft and after that it was un predictable. Loved to get loose on the shift. Pulled them off and found they were very loose even on the tight setting
Any help would be good thanks

I switched from a pair of those shocks because the were going solid on me at the hit. I did some research and talked to a bunch of people and found the valving in those shocks wasn't designed to take the speed of the suspension in a blower car. The valves couldn't bleed fast enough and they would basically go solid for the first 60ft or so.

I will say, this was 10 or more years ago, they may have various valve types now but back then no.

I went with a set of Afco Big Gun canisters instead.

    My 2 cents
