Buzdas Planning for Hot Time on Cool Track

Sacramento, Calif. – Blown Alcohol Dragster driver Kenny Buzdas believes the experience he and his Top Eliminator West team have learned this season will help propel the James Ray’s 2007 Top Eliminator West championship dragster to victory this weekend during the 35th Annual Famous Fox Hunt at Sacramento Raceway in Sacramento, Calif.

After the last TEW event in Medford, Ore., (a first round break out by 0.03-seconds) Buzdas and team owner Ray realized they had a car and driver combination, which under the right conditions and proper lines of communication can be down right nasty. The twenty-year old driver from Yuba City, Calif. is cautiously optimistic some home cooking at their local race track will pay dividends.

“We’ve run so often at Satco under multiple weather and track conditions with this set-up, we believe we have enough run data to lay down some seriously consistent performance,” stated the 2007 TEW Champion. “With the outlook of cooler temps we are looking to run well and be consistent. And if it’s cool, the J. Ray Concrete ‘digger’ is going to haul the mail."

Having won the event in 2007, Buzdas is eager to have a shot at repeating history.

“The Fox Hunt has been a staple of entertainment longer than I’ve been alive,” noted the driver who was born nearly twenty-years after legendary promoter Bill Donner created this novel concept. “The atmosphere is always great, the fans always have a good time. We are hoping the TEW cars all come out to play this weekend and put a great show on for the fans.”

The Famous Fox Hunt at Satco will feature not only the TEW 6.30-second index class, but also Top Sportsman Racing, the CIFCA Funny Car Association, Outlaw Pro Mod’s, 7.0 Pro Dragsters and a special Nitro Front Engine Nostalgia Dragster vs. Jet Car match-race.

A test and tune session will commence on Friday from Noon till 4pm. The TEW category will have their first qualifying session on Friday evening scheduled to begin at 6:55pm. A second qualifying session will occur at 1:41pm local time on Saturday. First round for the eight-car TEW field is scheduled to commence at 5:51pm.

As is traditional with a Fox Hunt, the “Foxes” get in free on Saturday.
